59 hour croon

Waren, Germany: A German has set a record for continuous singing by crooning for 59 hours and 15 minutes.

Hartmut Timm of Waren town in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania broke by nearly 45 minutes the old Guinness Book mark for continuous singing, previously held by an Italian.

Though not a professional singer, Timm sang largely German popular songs of the post-war period. He began the record attempt on Thursday in a restaurant and finished late on Saturday. During each hour, Timm was allowed a five-minute break, which he could choose to save up for a longer pause, under Guinness Book regulations.
