CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. Wildlife experts are trying again today to capture a deer with a plastic Halloween pumpkin stuck on his head.
They hope to tranquilize the yearling and remove the fake jack-o'-lantern.
It's been stuck on the deer's snout for at least six days.
The deer is a frequent visitor to a gated community in Michigan. Wildlife officials think a trick-or-treater left the candy bucket outside and the deer put its nose inside hoping for a snack. Instead, the pumpkin got stuck on the young buck's ears or horn buds, preventing him from eating or drinking.
Yesterday, animal experts couldn't get close enough for a clear shot with the tranquilizer gun. Today they'll bring in more tranquilizer guns to improve their odds.
