He is among the best of his breed in the country.

But Boycie the pedigree boxer is costing his owner thousands of pounds – because he eats everything in sight.

Owner Lynsey Pope has had huge vet bills to remove the household items the three-year-old has swallowed.

Among them were mobile phones, remote controls, corn on the cobs, clothes pegs and a pair of tights.

Miss Pope, 28, of Camborne, Cornwall, said: 'He lives for food. He knows he's not supposed to eat things and if I come round the corner he gobbles them up very quickly. He is just one of those dopey dogs.'
