Polack Heinz foods

Grocery giant Heinz is to sell a range of Polish foods in Britain.

The firm, famed for its Beanz Meanz Heinz slogan, will produce 13 recipes, including beef tripe in broth and stuffed cabbage in tomato sauce.

They will be sold under Heinz's Pudliszki label - Poland's No1 food brand -to cater to some of the 750,000 Poles living here.

Heinz's Lucy Clark said: "There is overwhelming demand for superior Polish products that offer a taste of home.

"Pudliszki is a well-loved and established name in its own right."

Heinz is the first food giant to bring Polish delicacies to British stores.

Labels will be in Polish, with English translations for non-Poles wishing to try them.

Asda, Tesco and Sains-burys will stock the range.

Asda, which will sell it in 70 stores, said: "We have many Polish customers who want to buy food they're familiar with.

"We've been increasing our range of Polish products and are confident they'll be very popular."
