Shopping Zimbabwe style

Zimbabwe has introduced a $100,000 note ,but with inflation running at 1,042% - the highest rate in the world - it won't even buy a loaf of bread.

The $100,000 not is officially worth about 50p , but on the black market it's been valued at just 16p.

It's only 4 months since the Reserve Bank introduced a $50,000 note .

"Last week I filled a single trolley with $30m worth of groceries , and had to count out 1,500 $20,000 notes at the checkout counter" said John Robertson ,an economist.
He says that the introduction of the larger denomination note will at least enable him to go shopping in future with his money in a shoulder bag rather than a suitcase.

maybe they should go back to using shells, cattle and women to buy stuff..
it's 7am in texas..been up nearly 45 minutes..got the football blews...cant sleep..your game comes on at 8am...never in my life watched a football(soccer) game unless the usa team was playing..so this is a first....all for you damien...

I hope you enjoyed it .. as Debbie texted me , a nice way to wake up to see 22 fit men in shorts... it was a bit dull but at least we won :)
I'm watching Sweden vs Trinidad now.

ps it's St. George & or Queen Elizabeth , we don't have a King.

oops, meant st. george...i know all about your kings and queens..i have been a fan of english kings and queens since i was a little girl...
divoriced, beheaded, died, divoriced beheaded,survived.....i love your history, and have read every book on henry, the 6 wives, anne bullen is my favorite, elizabeth the 1st, one of my heroines...plus mary queen of scots, all of them..really one of my vices...
