Tickets for a movie based around adverts for the Irn-Bru soft drink have sold out less than 24 hours after going on sale. The film, called Irn-Bru: Phenomenal Advertising, is being shown as part of the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
It depicts the drink's controversial commercials including "Christmas' Phenomenal Snowman".
A spokesman for the festival said one fan had even camped out to buy tickets. He said: "The demand for the Irn-Bru tickets really was phenomenal. They went on sale on the Friday and were all gone by the Saturday morning which is really remarkable.
"Only Hallam Foe, the opening film of the Film Festival, comes close to matching Irn-Bru's popularity.
"One guy was even there three hours before the tickets were released. He was so keen to get one I think he camped out."
A spokeswoman for AG Barr, the makers of Irn-Bru, said: "It's amazing that we've sold out so quickly, especially with this year's programme being as strong as it is. It's incredible to think that the stars of our ads will be up there with the world's most glamorous actors. The sell-out is testament to the advertising we've produced over the years and we're very much looking forward the event."
Irn-Bru, often dubbed "Scotland's other national drink" is the best-selling soft drink in Scotland as well as being one of the country's most recognisable brands.
Its famous adverts include "Made in Scotland from Girders" from the 1980s, "Electric Lady" from the 1990s and more recently "Christmas' Phenomenal Snowman".
The brand has become synonymous with controversial TV adverts since they first began in the mid 1970s.
