MESA, Ariz. -- Mesa police said a man was arrested Sunday evening after he broke into a woman's home and made himself a sandwich.
Police said the woman was asleep in the bedroom of her apartment when she heard the man force open the locked front door, reported KPHO-TV in Phoenix. When she left her bedroom to investigate, police said, the woman spotted 47-year-old Andres Flores opening her refrigerator door.
Police said the woman locked herself in her bedroom and called 911 while Flores made a ham sandwich in the kitchen. Flores fled the apartment before officers arrived but was caught in an adjacent courtyard after a witness pointed him out, according to police.
Officers said Flores was arrested after a brief struggle. He was booked on one count of second-degree burglary after the victim positively identified him, according to police.
