Free ice cream for tip-off

Melbourne's Ben & Jerry's is looking for sweet-toothed tipsters. The franchise in Melbourne, Fla., is offering five years of free ice cream to the person who helps them identify a man suspected of stealing $160 from the employees' tip jar earlier this month.

“It’s pretty despicable that someone would steal tip money from teenagers,” Matt Solomon, the store’s owner, tells Florida Today, a fellow Gannett newspaper. “These kids work hard behind this counter.”

Solomon says the reward is worth about $1,000. So far, police say they haven't identified any suspects.
