Jumpin' granny

Mary Armstrong celebrated her 90th birthday with a 12,000ft parachute jump. The great-grandmother of nine prepared with her instructor Clem Quinn.

The 90-year-old, from East Molesley in Surrey, made the daring jump at Kent's Headcorn airfield today.

Mrs Armstrong made her first parachute jump at the age of 87 and Today's leap was her fourth.

The jump was to raise money for a charity caring for working animals in poor countries.

The parachute jump had originally been planned for Monday but was delayed by a day by bad weather.
