Des Moines police today are investigating the case of the unwanted tattoo.
Hillary Ann Snyder, 20, said she took a sleeping pill on Saturday and went to bed in her west-side apartment. She awoke to discover some discomfort in her right ankle and then was surprised to find out she had a tattoo of a five-pointed star.
Snyder told police a young man who had been staying with her had not been paying the rent and they'd gotten into an argument. The man previously had asked her if she'd like a tattoo and Snyder had made it clear that she did not want one.
When the young man learned Snyder had contacted police to investigate the unwanted tattoo he reportedly threatened Snyder.
No arrests immediately were reported.
Officials are not releasing the man's name pending further investigation or charges.
