Slim fast camera

A digital camera that slims people at the touch of a button is the latest in a line of "female-friendly" gadgets.

The £200 camera has a "slimcam" setting which could end the tradition of ripping up unflattering holiday snaps before anyone else can see them.

It works by squeezing the picture in the middle, so the main object in focus looks thinner without distorting the surroundings. The compact camera is one of a range of items that have been identified by Comet as appealing to women.

Other items picked out by the company's Gadget Angels include a phone that can predict when a woman will ovulate.

A Comet spokeswoman said: "Who hasn't looked at a photo of themselves and wished they could airbrush off a few pounds?

"Our Gadget Angels team set out to find user-friendly technology which could make this a practical, affordable reality for everyone."
