The city council in a St. Louis suburb is changing its definition of "family." That's good news for an unmarried couple who bought a home in the community of Black Jack.
After months of debate, the council voted 7-0 Tuesday night to allow an unmarried couple with children to live in a home there, without facing fines.
The couple and their three children had been denied a housing permit under an ordinance that prohibited more than three people from living together unless they are related by "blood, marriage or adoption."
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) sued on their behalf.
The ordinance now includes, under its definition of a family, unrelated people and their children who live together as a single housekeeping unit.
The ACLU said it will see if any other families are affected by the new law before considering whether to drop the suit.

I should think so too what an outdated law , I should work on NC now , it's still illegal there
It was recently overturned as well. You can now cohabit in the state of NC in the year 2006. Prior to that you could be arrested.
I wonder how many women are mad they fixed that law. :)
