It's all Korean to me !

An elephant has learned to talk — and can utter eight words, his keepers claim.

Jumbo Kosik’s vocabulary includes “yes”, “no”, “sit” and “lie down” — in Korean.

The 16-year-old male “talks” by putting its trunk in its mouth and shaking it — like a person using his fingers to whistle.

But handlers at the Everland zoo in Seoul, South Korea, do not know if the Asian elephant understands what he is saying. They have invited scientists to listen to him.

Keeper Kim Jong-gap said he first heard Kosik making human-like noises two years ago. He said: “I realised he was mimicking my words.” Other elephants have learned to copy truck noises.
