Teens run record

(JS ignore this story .... it's cricket ) Two schoolboy cricketers smashed their way into the record books with 302 runs — the highest-ever opening partnership in a one-day match.

Greg Davies, 12, and Alistair Wood, 13, beat international and county highs playing for Wootton Bassett Under 15s against Malmesbury in the Wiltshire Junior County Final.

Alistair, who made 144, said: “I’ve never hit more than 46 before. But once I was past 50 I felt like I could go on and on.” Greg said: “I just went for it.”

Sri Lankans Sanath Jayasuriya and Upul Tharanga set the previous record of 286 against England in July.
