An 89-year-old great-grandfather is set to graduate from University.
William Cooper, who will be 90 in a few days, will graduate with an honours degree in sociology from the University of Wolverhampton.
The widower's daughter-in-law first suggested he went to university.
According to BBC online he said: "It's very difficult when you become a widower. You can snooze in a chair all afternoon but you have to push yourself to get going."
Asked what he would do with his degree, he said: "Nothing really. It's just a thing to pass retirement.
"But I proved to myself that I was as good as the rest and I got a certain amount of satisfaction that I had not wasted my time."
