Snappy Start

Early morning swimmers at the Nightcliff Pool in Darwin's northern suburbs have been given a shock today - a crocodile has been found in the pool.

Hayley Dwyer from the Northern Territory's police media unit says police were called to the pool at 4:30am ACDT and found a four-foot-long crocodile.

"It was found by early morning swimmers, when they put the lights on it jumped into the water and Parks officers are currently on their way to remove it," she said.

It is not known if it is a freshwater or saltwater crocodile.
