A former shelf stacker in Texas is suing Wal-Mart for religious discrimination, claiming he was fired from his job as a night stocker simply for wearing a Mulsim headdress, Catholic priest's shirt, and giant crucifix necklace, which his religion requires.
Daniel Lorenz ,23,told the judge he follows the Universal Belief System, a faith he founded himself in 2001.
Wal-Mart is arguing both that the UBS is not a valid religion, and that Lorenz was often seen outside work in normal clothing, a fact Lorenz ascribes to the "ever-evolving" nature of the Universal Belief System.
