Flake theft

About 250,0000 chocolate bars have been stolen from a dairy in Lancashire.

Police said £140,000-worth of Cadbury Flake bars, packed in a lorry trailer, had been taken.

Thieves attached a truck tractor unit to the trailer, which was parked at Frederick's dairy at Siding Lane in West Lancashire, on Monday night.

Det Con Joe Murphy said some of the chocolate had already been offered to ice cream sellers. Witnesses to the theft are asked to call Crimestoppers.

The theft happened between 1700 and 1800 BST. Officers believe a white Scania tractor unit was used.
