Trek-tastic profit !

Star Trek fan Tony Alleyne has sold his Star Trek-themed flat for an astronomical £425,000 — five times its market value.

Enterprising Tony, 54, worked eight hours a day for two years and spent £30,000 turning his one-bed studio into the starship Voyager’s flight deck.

Other flats in his block in Hinckley, Leics, have sold for a modest £80,000. But Tony put his up for sale on eBay a month ago with a guide price of £130,000.

Five fellow Trekkies began a bidding war — and he finally accepted the £425,000 offer from a Birmingham businessman, who wants to remain anonymous.

The flat boasts moulded wall panels, touch-panel blue lighting and even a life-size model of the famous transporter room. Interior designer Tony said: “It’s the only home like this in the world.”

He bought the flat for just £27,000 ten years ago — and started on the project after his marriage broke up. He said: “I was out of work and a bit down. I think I’d have done away with myself if I hadn’t built that first control panel.”

Tony says he may spend his windfall on building ANOTHER Star Trek replica. He said: “I’ll probably buy another flat with a good shape that lends itself to transformation.”
