It's not hard to figure out what James King wanted to be when he grew up.
Authorities this week fined the 27-year-old Chesapeake man a hundred dollars for impersonating a firefighter after police say he responded to several emergency calls in full firefighter's attire, boots, helmet and all.
Chesapeake Fire Marshal officers arrested King March 20. A few days earlier, fire officials say they saw King at a wreck along Interstate 64. But nobody knew him.
An investigation later turned up a helmet, boots, gloves, pants and a coat in his car, in addition to warning lights and an electronic siren.
It's unclear where he got the supplies. King also received a 60-day suspended jail sentence and had to pay court costs.
It's a misdemeanor in Virginia to impersonate any certified emergency medical services personnel, firefighters, forest wardens or other fire authorities.
It carries a penalty of up to a year in jail and a 25-hundred
dollar fine.
