Lawyer sues her father

A British lawyer has filed suit against her father, claiming he was trying to take money entitled to her from the family's $4.6 million estate.

Jane Walker told the country's High Court that her father, Bill, had failed to properly allocate money from a family trust set up by her grandfather, The Telegraph reported Wednesday. Walker said her father had planned to keep the money to pay for his retirement.

The trust set up by Francis Walker named Walker and her younger sister, Kate, as beneficiaries. Her father was not included in the trust because he was facing bankruptcy at the time, Walker said.

However, Walker's father claims the "true spirit" of the trust was to allow him to use the money for retirement.

Walker claimed in her suit that her father is attempting to use the money to control her, The Telegraph said.
