ROMANTIC Phil Hodson got 200 pupils to stand in the shape of “Marry Me” at his old school — then flew his girlfriend over in a helicopter and proposed.
Phil, 24, told Katie Thornton, 25, he was whisking her up in the air to celebrate ten years together.
But as she looked down on the playing fields, she saw the message, and said “Yes”.
Stunned Katie and electrician Phillip both went to Saddleworth School, Lancs, where the pupils were in on his plot.
Former head girl Katie said: “I saw the words, turned around and Phil was on bended knee with a ring. I burst into tears.”
Phil, of Grotton, Gtr Manchester, said: “I’m relieved it went so perfectly.”
Headteacher Eddie Barton said: “We were happy to oblige.”
