A 26-year-old British man who is skateboarding from Perth to Brisbane has arrived in Adelaide after taking almost three weeks to cross the Nullabor Plain.
David Cornthwaite is hoping to set a world record of more than 6,000 kilometres when he completes his journey in early January.
He only began riding a skateboard last year.
Mr Cornthwaite says getting across the Nullabor was gruelling but enjoyable.
"Before we started out I had a lot of Australians writing to me, when they heard about what I was trying to do, and saying it was impossible," he said.
"It took two-and-a-half-weeks. It's a long, long road, mate but didn't have any really major negative events."
Mr Cornthwaite is hoping to raise more than $100,000 for charity. He says the epic journey took him 12 months to plan.
"It's not just one guy on my skateboard - I've been planning this for a year," he said. "I've got a support team of seven people who're all dedicated to the cause. It's quite a nice feeling actually self-propelling yourself across the country. I know it's not for everybody but I'm certainly getting a lot out of it."
