A trip to a local rubbish tip turned into a nightmare for a confused driver and his family when he disappeared for two days – before turning up 170 miles away.
William Robertson, 80, got lost after leaving home in Berkeley, Gloucestershire, on Friday night.
His worried wife, Hazel, reported him missing when he failed to return that night.
Police appealed for sightings of him on Saturday before he and his Citröen ZX turned up in Cornwall yesterday.
'He is fine but a bit confused,' said a family member.
