MONACA, Pa. - When a driver noticed a boy walking on the side of a highway near Pittsburgh, police were called. And they learned the 10-year-old is pretty savvy for his age.
According to police, the child told them his parents had been drinking, and that his father crashed while trying to light a marijuana pipe.
At that point, the boy told them, he refused to get back in the car with his dad. When his mother pulled up, he wouldn't get in her car, either, opting instead to walk home.
Officers later charged both parents with DUI, and hit the father with a child endangerment charge.
The mother tells a local paper (the Beaver County Times) they never meant to hurt their son.
