FORT WORTH, Texas,-- Two Texas teenagers were charged early Thursday with posing as police officers in Fort Worth and pulling over drivers.
Nasr Emad Saleh, 18, and Lonnie Lee Berry, 19, allegedly made their last stop at 2 a.m. Thursday in front of two real Fort Worth police officers, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. The officers at first thought the pair were real sheriff's deputies but then realized that the red and blue lights on their Ford Taurus were not standard ones -- and wondered why one of the "deputies" remained in the car instead of backing up his partner.
Berry's sheriff's badge turned out to have a price sticker -- $9.99 -- still fixed to the back.
Investigators said the pair may have made two earlier traffic stops. They are unsure what their motive was.
