Costly pee

VIENNA: Thieves snatched one million euros ($1.29 million) worth of jewellery from the trunk of a German designer's car when he left it to relieve himself.

Jeweller Harald Hardy Herzmann, his security guard and a dog were all on the way to meet customers in the Austrian winter sports resort of Hochgurgl when Herzmann stopped nearby, according to local media.

"We all needed to go for a pee," Herzmann told daily Kronenzeitung.

The thieves smashed the back window of the car shortly after the two men left it and two suitcases full of necklaces, watches, bracelets and rings were taken, police said. A witness saw two young men running away.
