Explosives left at school

TUCSON, Ariz. The Tucson Police Department is conducting an internal probe into how explosive materials were left behind at a school following a police training exercise.

Members of the department's canine unit conducted the training exercises on Sunday, October 29th, at Blenman Elementary School. But they forgot to retrieve a training aid that contained explosives and it was left under a student's desk.

The training aid contained Tovex, an explosive that's used in mining and construction, but police say the gel-based device can't detonate by itself.

A teacher found it the next morning.
