BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- Police in Florida are on the lookout for what they are calling a serial pants bandit.
Since early October, at least four people have been targeted by armed robbers demanding they hand over their pants.
Police said the bandit may have struck again in Boynton Beach.
Investigators said a woman was robbed early Thursday morning along Seacrest Boulevard, becoming the fourth reported person robbed at gunpoint for pants in the last three months.
In the first pants theft on Oct. 2, police said a red, four-door vehicle pulled up to a man on the street and a passenger in the vehicle shot him.
Police said when the victim slumped to the ground, the suspect grabbed his trousers and said, "I like these pants."
Another robbery also occurred on Seacrest Boulevard on Nov. 12, when police said a car drove up to a man and a passenger pointed a gun at him, while a second passenger demanded the man's trousers. The victim was then shot several times after refusing to give up his pants. He survived the attack.
One Dec. 29, police said victim Joseph Mack, 35, was talking on his cell phone outside his Northwest 15th Avenue home in Boynton Beach when two men approached him with a gun and demanded his jeans.
Detectives said Mack gave the men everything he had on him and begged the men not to shoot him.
Police are investigating to see whether the cases are related.
