An Army bride has married the man she calls her "hero" - a soldier who saved her life while serving in Iraq.
Gunner Natalie Savage was thrown from a Land Rover in Basra in 2003, then attacked by a hostile mob of Iraqis.
But Lance Bombardier James Day came to her rescue, and from there the couple's romance blossomed.
A wedding ceremony was held at Mansergh Barracks in Guterslogh, Germany, where they are both currently serving in the Royal Artillery Regiment.
Natalie, 20, from Thornaby, Teeside, said: "I have got my own hero now.
"I was lying there injured and James said, 'Please don't go. I don't want you to go, I don't want you to die.
"Then he came to the hospital with a teddy bear and I just knew then.
