Sat Nav shopping

Tesco is considering introducing supermarket trolleys with satellite navigation systems to help shoppers find their way around stores.

Under the plans, shoppers with loyalty cards would clip mini computers to their trolleys. They would be able to call up previous shopping lists a store guide with information about promotions.

Alan Townsend, of retail specialist Wincor Nixdorf, which supplies supermarket technology, said:

"Not only will it make hand-written shopping lists obsolete, but it could answer the prayers of millions who waste countless hours struggling to find their way round the aisles."
